Spiegel Online: "Change You Can't Believe In"

"The rise of democratic frontrunner Barack Obama signifies an alarming victory of style over substance. Not unlike the dot-com hype, his campaign promises more than he can deliver. The one thing his voters can count on is that they will ultimately be disappointed..."

Dani Dani Dani.... What a shame. Obama is amazing. There is an energy in his campaign that I have never felt in all the 15+ years I've been voting. I'm not alone on this. He his HUGELY popular in our age demographic. He is not interested in partisan politics, and wants to erase outmoded political distinctions and rebuild. His views on the economy and on international matters are moderate, which I see as a good thing. In fact, thousands of independents think the same, as they have been flocking in his direction. Furthermore, with more international experience than any other candidate, more than ever America needs a diplomat who knows what he's talking about. Same applies with his religious background - no one can tell him he doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to Islamic related issues. If Americans elect a man with the middle name Hussain, every other country will have to rethink their perceptions of America. If we elect the same old thing, then nothing changes. Finally, thank god he's not some Washington insider. I'M SICK OF THEM. So are others. It is time for the dynasties to come to an end. While McCain is an excellent candidate, and I agree with him on a large number of issues, he is old. Too old. The possibility of there being a medical issue during his administration are significant and should not be ignored. Imagine a scenario where he chooses Huckabee as his VP, and something happens to McCain... We would have a president who does not believe in evolution, thinks that women should not have the right to choose, doesn't believe in the separation of church and state, and thinks that there should be a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage... So if you think Obama is scary, consider the alternatives.
Besides.... he's the coolest candidate since Kennedy. Who else could inspire New York's latest social lubricant - Baracktails!
